Workplace Policies
Policies have become more important in workplaces: while once used as a way of directing employees (and contractors) about conduct or process, they have become a way of demonstrating an employer’s compliance with employment and health and safety law obligations. For instance, workplaces should have clear and current health and safety policies. If there is a health and safety issue such as an accident, if questioned, an employer will want to point to the implementation of current and effective health and safety policies.
Social media, bullying and harassment, discrimination, privacy, conduct outside the workplace and drug and alcohol policies are amongst trending and vital employment policies in the modern age.
We understand policies – from how to introduce them through effective consultation with the workforce, through to enforcement and how the courts have interpreted them.
